In recognition of National Stroke Awareness Month in May, Peninsula Stroke Association proudly presented the 11th Annual Victory Over Stroke conference in 3 locations in Millbrae, Palo Alto, and San Jose. Over 400 people attended this year’s conference that were held and generously hosted by The Magnolia of Millbrae, Garden Court Hotel and O’Connor Hospital. County Supervisor Liz Kniss, Heather Holmes, Julie Haener, and Ken Wayne of KTVU 2 graciously accepted our invitations and served as the masters of ceremonies at this year’s conference.
Nan Unklesbay, Ph.D, author of Swimming Against the Tide: Strong Recovery From Stroke”, Trish Hambridge, Tony Broccoli, and Darrell Monda all shared their inspirational stroke recovery stories with our attendees, and once again reminded us that knowing the symptoms and seeking urgent medical treatment are key in reversing the outcome of a stroke.
