Get Back on the Horse is the fascinating biography of a resourceful and courageous man, Earl Edwards. Growing up in the Midwest and surviving the hardships of the Great Depression, Earl entered the U.S. Army Air Force in 1942. After flying two missions on D-Day, he and other surviving members of the crew were captured by German forces when their B-17 Bomber went down on July 11, 1944. Earl made his successful escape on his second attempt, and forged his way across Europe—alone—to freedom. Get Back on the Horse is an admirable tale of survival, endurance and love.
